Tennant Company is currently seeking an Intermediate Painter to work 3rd shift from 10:00 pm Sunday night through 6:00 am Friday morning. As a Painter you will be responsible for successful operation of the paint process including hanging, unloading, pre-staging, masking, and painting parts. 2nd and 3rd Shift Painters will start out with new hire on the job training on first shift for approximately a month and a half prior to transitioning to their assigned shift.
Performs primary functions of Intermediate Level Painter.
Performs full color changes, caulking of parts and operates controls side of the paint booth.
Performs troubleshooting and adjustment to complete assigned tasks.
Identifies problems and/or reasons for paint errors and recommends resolutions.
Focuses on continuous improvements of paint processes.
Ability to operate in all 7 stations within the paint operations: load, unload, feed side, control side, mask, prestage and lift truck operator.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
2-4 years related experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires standing 90% of shift
Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and lifting with arms extended
Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. Average part weighs 5 - 15 lbs
Requires good manual dexterity
Hearing and vision protection required in all areas
Safety shoes required in all areas
Exposure to oil, grease, dust, metal particles, sparks, sharp edged materials
- Exposed to hazards/risks that require body protection (gloves, pants, steel toes, sleeves, safety glasses, etc.).
REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:
Ability to problem-solve.
Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline oriented environment.
Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environment.

Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.
Consistent attendance either onsite or remotely as needed by the business.
Ability to take direction and accept supervision.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.
Applies intermediate level skills that are built off of Entry Level Painter skills.
Expected to perform at a high standard of productivity, efficiency and time management.
Operates a fork truck.
Ability to focus on all key initiatives: safety, quality, delivery, cost and engagement.
Applies basic and intermediate level skills.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows and Outlook.
