Forterra Pipe & Precast LLC Quality Control Technician in Stacy, Minnesota

We are currently recruiting one full-time Quality Control Technician to join our Stacy, MN team. The main duties of this position consist of pre-inspection and post-inspection of precast concrete pipe, manholes, and related products including reinforcement, mix design, concrete placement and consolidation, and curing and pre-inspection of forms. This person will assist with the implementation of best practices and techniques in regards to quality and mix design optimization. Essential Functions: Prepares and performs formulation tests that support the creation, development and improvement of new and existing standard, premium, performance and specialty mixes. Perform materials and product testing of concrete cylinder strength, three edge bearing, absorption, air slump, and final visual inspection of products. May include travel to jobsites for quality testing. Perform lab duties including preparing and running lab formulation trials, cylinder/beam preparation, testing and data logging. Perform and document quality control tests in accordance with established local (city and state) and national standards (ACI, ASTM). Conduct quality control tests without supervision and within the precision standards established by ASTM, ACI, and AASHTO. Sample raw materials for validation at the lab and conduct mix adjustments (at the plant or in the field) using admixtures as required. Accept final product by proper product marking, production counts, document and record keeping, and daily job order processing using in house MRP software. Provide customer support in resolving quality concerns and problems in the field working with the QC manager, including job site testing. Assist sales, drivers, other QC personnel and managers as needed/required. Comply with all safety regulations, maintain clean and orderly work areas and adhere to company OSHA safety guidelines at all times. Promote a safe work environment for all staff, vendors, and customers. Additional tasks may include maintaining a clean work area, free of safety hazards; comply with all Company policies and directives for the fulfillment of maximum production and quality objectives.
