Quality Assurance Technician

We currently have an opportunity for a highly motivated, self-directed Quality Assurance Technician to work with our team members and assist Garelick Mfg. Co. in achieving operational excellence. This position will report directly to the Quality Supervisor. This individual will have excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively interface with a wide range of employees and customers to meet departmental and company goals.

Primary responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Assist the Quality Supervisor with overseeing Quality processing for Garelick Mfg. Co.

  • Investigate, follow-up, and close customer issues, including managing corrective action starting with reporting, through closure & professional responses to customers.

  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual inspection and measurement tests with basic tools, returning products for re-work, confirming re-work.

  • Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.

  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Work with suppliers to identify root cause and eliminate future issues.

  • Assist in process improvement projects such as root cause analysis, 5S, and lean manufacturing.

  • Accomplish quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years quality experience in a manufacturing setting (• Three plus years of experience in quality or manufacturing operations.)

  • Ability to use basic tools such as tape measures, micrometers, gauges, fixtures, hand tools, etc.

  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints

  • Mechanical problem-solving aptitude – ability to look at things and trouble shoot, problem solve.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in business, engineering, science, or related field.

  • Previous experience managing the corrective action process and customer generated issues.

  • ASQ Certifications and LSS experience a plus.

  • Must be able to routinely lift 40 lbs. shoulder-height.

  • This position will work in a receiving dock environment, requires standing, walking, lifting, and use of stairs.
