This leader is responsible for coordinating the operations of the specialty practices in collaboration with the specialty management team, develops and implements schedule management processes that permit efficient and effective scheduling of patient appointments and supports staff in delivering outstanding patient service. They are also responsible for the performance of clinical and business office staff in TMD, endodontics, prosthodontics, periodontics and oral surgery specialty clinics. Responsibilities: Responsible for the supervision of staff, including having the authority to hire, transfer, lay off, promote, discipline and discharge, train, reward and review performance of employees. Ensures compliance to organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for financial management and development of specialty operational, capital equipment and capital construction budgets. Conducts analysis to determine utilization, production, and other trends in the specialty practice and makes appropriate recommendations. Facilitates the development and execution of the annual plan goals, objectives and strategies. Works with specialists, specialty manager, and associate dental director of specialty care to accomplish goals of the specialty practices. Responsible for ensuring that effective schedule management processes are used. This includes capacity analysis, master schedule development, on-going schedule management processes, and production analysis. Supports continual improvement and evaluates and projects future needs. Analyzes appropriate information and works with specialty management team to make recommendations for geographic locations of specialty services. Ensures efficient and effective referral processes are in place. Works with clinic management to coordinate day to day management of specialty staff and to effectively integrate the specialty practices into individual clinics. Coordinates effective and efficient use of human resources between clinics, as needed. Responsible for communication and implementation of HealthPartners policies and procedures. Oversees physical plant activities that ensure effective operation, appearance and security, in freestanding dental facilities. Actively participates in the creation, update and ongoing testing of business continuity and disaster recovery planning and preparation. Investigates, analyzes and resolves specialty clinic complaints/concerns to improve ongoing patient relations to ensure quality of care. (Specialists and/or associate dental director for specialty care are responsible for quality of care complaints for the specialty clinics). Responsible for training and supporting business office staff in all clerical functions including the dental practice system, and all patient related processes to ensure an exceptional patient experience. Supports improved clinical staff performance i.e., productivity, patient service, and adherence to care guidelines. Responsible for improved clerical performance, patient service, efficient schedule management and accounts receivable.
