POSITION SUMMARY The Materials Coordinator will report to the materials supervisor and is responsible for coordinating all activities associated with the Materials department within a designated area on the production line. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Coordinate materials functions within a cell including materials, manufacturing, engineering production and quality assurance. Drive continuous improvement and assist with the development, communication and deployment of policies, guidelines and tools to ensure success in all processes. Ensure material coordination in key areas such as communication to other plants with shipping requirements and errors, motor and reduce obsolete, past dues and negatives to zero, review, use and distribute daily dispatch lists. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 2+ years experience in a manufacturing or inventory management role is preferred Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Excellent communication, organizational skills and a high-level attention to detail Motivated self-starter, independent, with the ability to work well as a part of a team Ability to adapt to rapid change and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 5S is preferred APICS Certification or currently enrolled in APICS program is an asset WHY JOIN OUR TEAM: NFI Group has been named a Manitoba Top Employer for 2020 and this is the tenth since the competition was established in 2007.
