The Bernard Group Fixture Assembly Prototyper in Shakopee, Minnesota

The Bernard Group is looking for an experienced Fixture Assembly Prototyper to join our team. You?ll be part of a talented group that collaborates to deliver world-class products to our customers. This role will use industry standard techniques, precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment to manipulate and create finished goods. This individual will also read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and related documentation to determine methods and sequence of operations to meet all dimensional and finish specifications required.

Shift available: Monday through Friday 7:00 am ? 3:30 pm

This position initially pays $18.00+ per hour with performance-based increases as well as a generous benefits package.

A variety of these traits will help land you this job if you have:

  • a two-year Technical or Trade school diploma or certification, or equivalent work experience (required)

  • two years? minimum related experience in fabrication field (required)

  • understanding of fixture assembly

  • leadership experience

On top of that you must:

  • evaluate work flows to create work standards and have the ability to create and improve efficient and effective work processes

  • have strong knowledge of fixture assembly, along with general tool knowledge

  • have the ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work in a fast-paced environment

  • be able to work unsupervised, make high level decisions independently, and solve problems effectively and creatively

  • display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization

  • understand and maintain confidential nature of customer and organization information

  • show professional knowledge, proficiency and initiative in achieving goals and meeting company standards

  • identify, evaluate, problem solve, and give direction regarding problem resolution for individual and Team issues

In this position, you will:

  • set up and manufacture custom fixture jobs

  • use various techniques to assemble product

  • verify settings by measuring product specifications, first-run/sample parts, and client finished goods

  • maintain specifications by observing operations; take measurements; detect malfunctions; troubleshoot processes; and adhere to quality assurance procedures

  • meet production goals in terms of assembly time, quantity, and quality

  • trim, drill, countersink, grind, and finish parts to specifications, using templates, hand tools, and power tools

  • assist on projects for both the Prototype department and the Fixture Assembly department

  • verify that prototypes are set up and manufactured in a manner that is production friendly

  • work with the Design team, Project Managers and Account Executives on any prototype changes or improvements that are needed to improve production processes

  • maintain a clean and safe working environment
