Bayer Interior Woods is HIRING!! This position will be on our day shift: Monday-Thursday 6am-3:50pm Friday 6am-10am Purpose and Description: Razor gage o Be able to download cut list into razor gage o Mark defects out of the material with crayon o Chop the orders and machine will print labels on it o Stack and keep the jobs organized in carts or on boards o Chop non door dept items such as face frames, drawer box, samples and so on Whirlwind chop saw (Old Chop Saw) o Run Tiger stop o Chop remakes PMK Cope machine o Set up different heads o Make sure back profile is in range of 145-155 o Keeping an eye out for dull, chipped, damaged knifes and getting them changed Voorwood cope machine (Old cope machine) o Used for glass doors, some profiles and MDF o Set up the machine there are numbers posted but that is to help you get in a ballpark you may need to adjust the settings to make sure machine is set up right. o ALWAYS run a test piece to check for length and back profile is in range of 145-155. If either of them are off then reset the machine and run a new test piece. o Pay attention to what side should be the face and place it in the machine according to what way the face will be ran. o Spot check the job to make sure something didn t shift in the machine. o Keeping an eye out for dull, chipped, damaged knifes and getting them changed Sticker machine o Set up the machine there are numbers posted but that is to help you get in a ballpark you may need to adjust the settings to make sure machine is set up right. o ALWAYS run a test piece to check for width and cope piece fits in there nicely without a large lip. If either of them are off then reset the machine and run a new test piece. o Pay attention to what side should be the face (if you have the option) and place it in the machine according to what way the face will be ran. o Spot check the job to make sure something didn t shift in the machine. o Keeping an eye out for dull, chipped, damaged knifes and getting them changed Stile and Rail arch machine o Grab the jig that you will need according to paperwork o Set up the proper head o Use bit to cut along the jig and then gets profiled Arch Glass o Set up width o Plow out back to make it into a glass piece Pre-assembly o Prep the order according to what the door design is o Match up panels to the stile and rail o Take out any defects that are found and remake them Assembly o Paperwork will let you know what the promax needs to be set at o Glue the rails and depending on panel profile may need glue in panel o Assembly the door and put it in the promax to be nail (some doors need to be hand nailed) o Anything bigger 51 long will need to be built on clamp table. When doing double doors, it is very important to measure the openings to make sure the mull is in the right space. Special Job Demands (working conditions, travel, hazards, etc.): OPERATORS are sometimes exposed to hazardous situations that produce cuts. There is a moderate possibility of slight injury. However, following safety precautions can reduce the risk of injury. OPERATORS must possess the ability to: follow directions, recognize species of wood, recognize material defects according to company specifications, make accurate measurements, perform routine machine maintenance, organize necessary work area, and attend to detail.
