Randstad in Roseville is partnering with a speciality floor coating manufacturer which has formulated a high-end Polyurea floor coating solution to compete against existing epoxy based floor coatings for both commercial and DIY markets. This client is based in N Saint Paul, and will be relocating to a brand-new, larger production facility in Brooklyn Park, MN in June to accommodate the immense growth they are experiencing! With this growth, they are looking for candidates that have Industrial Mixer Operator experience to join their team! This is a temp-to-hire opportunity to join a great company that offers pay increases, benefits, and vacation time when hired on!
Shift: 6:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Thursday (some OT Friday)
Location: N St. Paul, moving to Brooklyn Park in June 2018
Pay: $15-18/hr depending on experience
The primary result expected from the Mixer is to produce the coating and related products by setting up, operating, or tending machines to mix or blend materials, such as chemicals, liquids, color pigments, explosive ingredients, or rust-proofing materials.
-Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards, and make adjustments as necessary.
-Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections, or by using machinery.
-Weigh or measure chemicals, coatings, or paints before adding them to machines.
-Select appropriate coatings, paints, or sprays, or prepare them by mixing substances according to formulas, using automated paint-mixing equipment.
-Set up and operate machines to paint or coat products with such materials as silver and copper solution, rubber, paint, glaze, oil, or rustproofing materials.
-Record operational data on specified forms.
-Start pumps to mix solutions and fill tanks.
-Operate auxiliary machines or equipment used in coating or painting processes.
Working hours: 6 AM - 4 PM
-Communicate with Supervisors, peers, or subordinates: provide information to supervisors and co-workers in written form or in person.
-Maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality.
-Learn all manual tasks performed within the department.
-Perform tasks assigned using specific operating procedures, and following department specific quality control processes and procedures.
-Treat people with dignity and respect.
-Conduct all business with integrity.
-Adhere to Rust-Oleum Corporation Quality principles and participate in all departmental and company-wide Quality activities.
-Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
-Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
-The ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
-Calculate basic pounds, decimals & fractions.
-High School Diploma.
-Client requires criminal background and drug test prior to starting.
