We are seeking a Manufacturing Production Lead in out Vadnis Heights office.
What you need to know:
Title: Manufacturing Production Lead
Location : Vadnis Height, MN
Hours: 5:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Thurs
Duration: Contract to Hire
This position is responsible for leading a manufacturing shift to ensure meeting quality, cost, delivery, safety and other goals.
In addition to leading, this position will have extensive experience in complex machine or process operations. Will perform complex work involving considerable adjusting, aligning or considerable application of knowledge or process variables.
This position will be able to set up, safely run and troubleshoot various manufacturing machines or equipment and has extensive technical skill including the ability to perform equipment maintenance, both preventive and repair.
Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and leadership consistent with the organization's values and principles and giving all direct reports feedback to the same standards.
Drive the overall cleanliness and orderliness of work areas consistent with Lean Six Sigma concepts like 5S, Visual Factory, and Kaizen, and also compliant with ISO13485 standards.
Ensure material I.D., status, segregation, and traceability during all phases of production.
Provide leadership, performance and overall work direction for a manufacturing shift consistent with priorities established by the Value Stream Manager or Shift Supervisor.
Assist the Value Stream Manager or Shift Supervisor to establish training matrices for staff, ensure all training is current and is documented in Master Control, and ensure all staff behavior is in compliance
Review the contents of job jackets daily, identify factors which may be limiting production's ability to follow work instructions, to meet quality requirements or to meet the quoted estimate for material and labor, and forward recommended updates to the Value Stream Managers for review and approval.
Interpret production schedule and assign staff accordingly.
Finalize work order and bring product to shipping.
Accountable for ensuring company safety goals are met.
Accountable for meeting On-Time Delivery to promise date.
Accountable for Product and Service Quality for team.
Under the guidance of a Value Stream Manager or Shift Supervisor, the Lead is accountable for implementing front-line Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing behavior that focuses on eliminating non-value-added activity such as wasted human talent, defects, inventory, overproduction, waiting time, motion, transportation time, and processing waste as well as maintaining statistically based process capability in production.
Accountable for no document findings for self and associates your lead.
Accountable to ensure documentation is current and up to date.
Achieve profit contribution dollar goal.
Accountable for completing personal learning and development goals.
High School diploma
Post High School education, preferably a technical degree or certification.
2 - 4 years minimum of leading others in a manufacturing environment
3 - 5 years manufacturing experience, 2 years medical manufacturing preferred
Work experience and or training in Lean Six Sigma manufacturing
Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Experience in a ISO13485 or GMP compliance environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to recommend and submit production procedure changes for review and approval
Strong math skills with ability to understand basic statistics such as means, standard deviations, and control charting
Ability to read blueprints, understand geometric dimensioning and tolerances, and identify non-conformances or borderline quality conditions that require corrective action
Ability to work proficiently on computers.
Exceptional organization skills, self-directed, and results driven
Ability to process conflicting information, search for facts, problem solve, and make responsible decisions while under pressure
