The person hired for this position be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various pilot plant equipment and processes while ensuring 3M quality standards are met and maintained. This position may involve performing complex tests, tasks, and/or experiments. Also, this person will provide support to conduct experimental and production runs while maintaining a safe working environment. This job involves shift work on a regular basis with overtime.

Maintaining a safe working environment.
Supporting development of technologies and processes.
Preparing and operating experimental, prototype or production equipment. Providing general maintenance, setup, and changeover of equipment
Locating defects or problems during the manufacturing process. Making adjustments to correct the problem.
Performing quality testing. Interpreting and providing feedback on quality results. Adjusting machinery to meet specifications based on test results
Maintaining record of run conditions and quality test results. Producing necessary reports.
Participating and occasionally serving as team leader in various pilot plant teams.
Contribute to continuous improvement and problem solving.
Perform other duties as assigned.
This position may require:
Short notice shift coverage
Working rotating shifts
Physical demands including: lifting up to 40lbs, walking up and down stairs
High School diploma/GED or higher from (completed and verified prior to start) an accredited institution
Minimum of three (3) combined years experience working in a manufacturing, pilot plant, and/or laboratory environment within a private, public, government or military environment
Associates/Two (2) Year Technical degree from an accredited institution
Experience with web handling, extrusion, injection molding, and/or converting experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with nonwovens and/or thermoplastics processes and/or equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and good problem solving skills
Ability to complete work independently and work well in a team environment
Good written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Office 365, specifically Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Personal flexibility to handle change within the workplace
