RECEIVING OPERATIONS TEAM LEAD
The Lead will be the go-to person for Receiving employees and will demonstrate leadership in attaining production goals, objectives, productivity and quality targets.
POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Updates and tracks work center and value stream MDI metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Cash and Culture)
Coaches team members on standard work, MDI Metrics and overall work flow
Utilizes SAP reports for delivery, cost (efficiency), and parts lookup
Supports production and material flow to ensure processes run smoothly and uninterrupted
Contributes to business development and planning for defined cells and/or value streams
Human Resources Functions
Supports the daily functions and core HR Operations for team member relations, labor relations and risk, hiring and staffing, pay, scheduling, timekeeping, talent management, development and team engagement.
Stay current on all available resources, including company communication, to deliver an exceptional team member experience.
Responds to team member questions and concerns promptly and courteously, directing them to appropriate resources and leaders for escalation, if needed.
Follows company procedures related to HR processes and handling confidential information.
Fosters an inclusive, diverse, safe and empowered work culture.
Communicates safety hazards and improvement ideas to team
Participates in safety awareness programs
Completes hazard identification cards (Hazard, Near Miss, Property Damage, First Aid, Injury)
Updates tier safety cross daily
Ensures team completes two safety observations quarterly
Understands and trains in accordance with the Quality Policy and ISO 9001 requirements
Follows the quality escalation procedure in-case of on-the-line issues which need to be escalated to a cross functional team or manager
Utilizes and coaches team members on the red-tag process and how to identify non-conforming material
Reviews Quality metric on MDI at Tier I meeting in the morning
Trains and coaches operators on what the Quality metric is and how to improve it at a work function level
Attends weekly 5 day schedule meetings, applies and communicates outcomes to work center
Aligns daily resources to meet the 5 day schedule.
Highlights Daily material issues and works with necessary departments to create the short and long term solution to the issue.
Escalates unresolved issues and opportunities affecting production to plant staff during GEMBA walk.
Recommend overtime to meet demand
Reviews Delivery metric on MDI at Tier I meeting in the morning
Trains and coaches operators on what the Delivery metric is and how to improve it at a work function level
Makes tactical decisions on where staffing is placed based on business priorities for that day
Follows up throughout the day on quantity of staff needed for the workload to ensure each line is balanced based on demand
Reviews Cost/Efficiency metric on MDI at Tier I meeting in the morning
Trains and coaches operators on what the Cost metric is and how to improve it at a work function level
Applies lean principles to minimize waste
Processes scrap correctly
Reviews Cash metric on MDI at Tier I meeting in the morning
Trains and coaches operators on what the Cash metric is and how to improve it at a work function level
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Associates degree or coursework towards Bachelor’s Degree preferred
5+ Years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
ERP System (SAP, MFG, PRO, M2K) experience
Prior leadership and training experience desired.
Demonstrated problem solving and use of imitative to meet a defined target or project goal
Experience of lean manufacturing methodologies and/or continuous improvement

18 years of age or older
Ability to work unsupervised

Ability to access all areas of the building to respond to production and warehouse needs
Possess the ability to communicate effectively in individual and group situations both orally and in writing
Able to learn and adapt to current technology needs, including basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Intranet systems...etc)
Able to interpret instructions, reports and information on computer screens and key information on a computer or other devices
Physical requirements are standing, walking, lifting and lowering weights up to 50 pounds and with assistance occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Able to climb and descend ladders
Able to move product efficiently and safely
Willing to cross train and work in other areas of the plant, as needed.
Flexible work Schedule ( e.g. Nights, weekends) and regular attendance necessary
