SUMMARY: Assist maintenance personnel with all mechanical and hydraulic repairs on Metal Paint equipment, associated auxiliary equipment and perform daily lab tests on all processes in Metal Paint. Perform maintenance activities as assigned in Liquid Paint.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Must successfully complete vendor training. Continuous monitoring of time, temperature, concentration, pH, pressures, and water levels in accordance with vendor specifications in documented form. Monitor condition of nozzles and spray patterns. Check condition of parts, after washer for dirt, oil, streaks, rust, etc. Check condition of all tanks for soil load and recommend time for new charge. Assist in setting up and consistently monitoring the E-Coat paint system at Polaris. Adjust and maintain an E-Coat tank that will meet Vendor and Polaris specifications. Comprehend and associate with Vendors when doing all daily testing needed to achieve a quality paint job. Assist other Maintenance/Lab Techs with projects. Provide Technical Support to Supervisor Provide support and involvement in developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules on equipment. Ability and willingness to work overtime as required; "on-call" duty may be required over holidays and weekends. Maintain a clean work environment. Other duties as assigned
WASTE WATER OPERATIONS: Continuous monitoring of the pH, coagulant feed rates, ORP, polymer feed rates. Adjust feed rates as needed. Continuous monitoring of the floc characteristics, discharge effluent parameters. Record all of the above conditions on prescribed form. Continuous monitor waste flow rates. Calibrate systems and laboratory instruments. Perform jar tests as needed.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: Must be a team player and be willing to temporarily fill other positions as needed. Excellent record keeping skills required. Must have basic electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic skills. Must be a self-starter with efficiency and ability to perform a consistent job in a routine fashion. Ability to “take charge” and work with vendors to help Polaris achieve a consistent and uniform quality paint job. Must be able to work at heights of 20+ft. Must be able to work in confined areas as needed. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs. Welding/fabrication experience preferred. Ability to obtain certification as Polaris forklift driver and Scissor Lift Operator. Must be innovative and open to new ideas. Must have exceptional mechanical abilities. Must demonstrate leadership potential and have effective communication skills. Ability to rebuild equipment following prints and equipment manuals. Must have basic computer skills Microsoft Office etc.
