Position: Plant Technician Location: Randolph, MN Job Id: 161-30325 # of Openings: 1 Job Title Plant Technician Reports To Plant Foreman Position Location Randolph, MN Department Midwest Region Position Type Full Time, Benefit Eligible Compensation $15.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience FLSA Status Hourly, Non-Exempt JOB SUMMARY Under the direct supervision of the Plant Foreman, the Plant Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day plant operation to produce quality products and support distribution efforts. The duties and responsibilities of this position may include the maintenance and planning of plant resources to provide shipping and blending activities. This position may drive heavy equipment. Region Specific Information The Midwest Region has four (4) main plant facilities and many other storage locations that service the industries where we participate. This position will reside at the Randolph Facility, which manufactures blends and is the point of origin for our products and services. Decision Making This position will take daily direction from the Plant Foreman to safely execute plant operations. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None for this position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS One (1) year experience maintaining shop equipment High School Diploma or GED Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record MVR PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS Possession of a CDL or ability to obtain certification Demonstrated high level of accuracy and attention to details Excellent communication skills; verbal and written Ability to meet deadlines and establish priorities Proficient with MS Office (emphasis on Excel), Gmail and Google Docs MSHA training Forklift operator's certificate Demonstrated ability to properly unload railcars Duties and Responsibilities Proficient in the safe operation of plant blending, loading and metering equipment. Follow and adhere to all ESI Safety Policies and Procedures. Load and unload internal and external trucks, railcars, tanks, and other shipping containers including liquid, dry, equipment, and packaged products. Perform and administrate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance functions on plant equipment as required including pumps, tanks, meters, plumbing, trucks, shop equipment, and other plant related items. Be proficient at blending activities including ratio calculation, visual product checks, high capacity production, and quality control as required by various operator certification levels. Communicate proactively to Plant Foreman and/or operations manager any plant needs, problems, or potential enhancement opportunities. Perform rail site operation activities including railcar administration, site and equipment maintenance, and equipment operation. Strictly follow all quality control initiatives identified by corporate objectives and quality control coordinator. Provide exceptional customer service and communicate customer concerns to dispatcher, area supervisor and/or operations manager. Working Conditions May frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
