Job Purpose: The Quality Inspector will independently perform inspections on parts, materials, customer returns and supplies received from vendors, perform in-process production inspections, and ensure products comply with quality standards prior to shipment. Inspector will verify that suppliers comply with company quality program requirements. Issues acceptance or rejection tags based on outcome of inspections, checking with supervisor on more difficult determinations. Follows company procedures to document rejected parts. Initiates routing of paperwork to ensure purchasing, inventory, and accounting records remain accurate. Primary duties and responsibilities: Audits and monitors quality requirements in accordance with company quality assurances policies and customer specifications. Conducts inspections on first articles, customer returns, in-process, and in-coming; completes final inspections, inspects staged products prior to shipments to clients. Initiates nonconformance reports as required. Inputs and performs trending of key inspection process metrics. Performs accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspections of raw materials, components and sub-assemblies as per inspections plans and specification requirements. Performs product identification and traceability activities. Reads and interprets specification and part prints. Works with personnel to resolve inspection questions. Communicate with engineers to ensure schematics are in compliance with the final product. Follows all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations. Follow company policies and practices as outlined in Handbook and follow guidelines regarding safety as outline in the AWAIR, and other safety procedures in accordance to the job. Performs additional duties as assigned.
