The primary role of a Cheese Packager is to assemble cheese barrels, monitor filling and seal cheese barrels, and put the pallets in cooler at or above production and quality standards while maintaining a safe, clean work environment. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.1. Assemble barrels inserting hoops and liners.2. Placing barrels onto the line, moving to the press.3. Removing hoops and press plates upon exiting the chamber.4. Seal bags and taping of barrels.5. Weigh, tag and palletize barrels.6. Use forklift to move pallets into the cooler.7. Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment, supplies in bagging and work areas throughout the plant. 8. Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping9. Adhere to all aspects of company and customer safety, sanitation and site policies.10. Assists with training new employees;11. Provides assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting;12. Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity13. Employee is frequently exposed to warm temperatures. Employee is regularly exposed to chemicals during sanitation processes. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.• Protective Equipment – Personal protective equipment is required depending on the job being performed, including protective eye wear, or face shields, hearing protection, hair and beard nets, uniforms, and boots. Additional equipment is required working with chemicals, such as rubber gloves and use of chemical proof aprons as appropriate for job being performed.
