Job Description:

3M is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager for AdMD Manufacturing Operations located in Oakdale, MN

Job Summary:

The person hired for the Manufacturing Operations Manager position will be responsible for EHS, Quality, Service, Inventory, Cost, NPI and investments for the plants and value streams within the Advanced Ceramics Platforms. Two major value streams within this responsibility include glass bubbles and ceramic fibers.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Drive improvement in all facets of manufacturing operations – EHS, Quality, Service, Inventory and Cost

  • Advance the applied manufacturing technologies within assigned value streams

  • Ensure capital projects and new products introductions meet established timelines and cost targets

  • Champion efforts to improve flow and streamline value streams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in a private, public, government or military environment in one or more of the following areas: quality, application engineering, product engineering, new product introduction, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology, process engineering, project engineering, manufacturing operations, and/or research laboratory

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a Plant Manager role

  • Experience leading and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology for sustained continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • LSS Black Belt certified

  • International experience

  • Strong leadership behaviors

  • Experience leading high performing cross functional teams

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills

  • Experience working with operations in a matrix reporting structure

Location: Oakdale, MN

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international travel
