Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of production metrics including machine efficiencies, machine waste, product quality, on time shipments, safety and taking care of the needs of your employees. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and troubleshooting production problems. Good communication with other shifts and departments is essential to resolve problems and exceed department goals. Hours are typically 7am to 4pm but hour flexibility is essential in this position. Willingness to work weekends during busy season is also an expectation.

Duties, Responsibilities, Key Accountabilities:

  • Establish, maintain and promote a high standard of Safety

  • Maintain favorable working relationships with employees to promote a positive working environment that maximizes employee engagement, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Establish work procedures, processes and standards that support company and departmental goals and objectives.

  • Monitor and track quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in areas of responsibility.

  • Provide performance feedback on an ongoing basis and write and administer timely performance reviews.

  • Ensure employees have appropriate training and other resources to perform their jobs.

  • Track and adhere to labor budgets

  • Analyze department workload to estimate labor needed and create schedules to meet both internal and external needs.

Required Job Skills:

  • At least two years of previous experience in production environment

  • Demonstrated high level of accountability

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel

  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others (supervisory experience)

  • Proven track record of balancing and achieving positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction and employee relations

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • An ability to manage multiple priorities
