JOB DESCRIPTION: OVERALL POSITION FOCUS: This person is responsible for manufacturing of special production tooling and fixturing as well as engineering prototypes. Also responsible for completing quality tools in a timely manner. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Training of personnel for various duties in the use of tool room equipment. Experience with MasterCam programming. Must be able to design special tools. Must be able to operate all Toolroom equipment including manual lathes and mills, cnc lathes and mills, surface and cylindrical grinding. Must be able to operate all inspection equipment. Must have good knowledge of all aspects of production machining. Must be able to diagnosis problems on machining and tooling. Must be able to show leadership. Must be enthusiastic, a self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision. Someone that takes the initiative and gets the job done. Recognizes problems, offers ideas and shows leadership for improvement. Must show leadership in safety and health programs. Supervise that work areas are kept clean and are orderly using 5S system. Ensure that all inventory is being put back in location when completed. Schedule workload as needed. Job/technical skills, personal and organizational skills, human relations skills, problem solving skills, self-motivational, safety and customer satisfaction skills are required. Continue to refine skills and improve the quality of work output. Work as a team member to help achieve department goals. Maintain standards in quality and to achieve daily requirements. Will work with teams to get the job done. Friendly and approachable. Communicate clearly to achieve company goals. Continuously practice safe work habits to keep accidents from happening. All other duties that are asked by management to be done for the best interest of the company, its customers and its employees. DIRECTION OF OTHERS: None EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Prefer two year vocational education and five years of directly related work experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Physical requirements are standing, walking, lifting and lowering weights of 50 pounds.
