GENERAL SUMMARY Develops and implements production standards that will globally improve efficiency of operations in the press, corn and chip departments through effective implementation of service to sales, cost reduction, inventory, safety, GMP and Quality program procedures. Directly manages the daily actions of the Corn, Chip and Press departments. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develops and directs strategies conductive to attaining a healthy morale through: o Training and development of personnel. o Motivation of all workers. o Promoting teamwork at all levels and expanding cooperation between departments.. o Placement of workers according to their abilities and personal tendencies. o Development of leadership between immediate employees. Develops an expanded view of the business in subordinates. Communicates with department employees specific and clear objectives that are real and attainable and conclusive to attaining the general objectives of the company. Facilitates and assists employees in reaching their specific objectives. Gives timely performance reviews to each employee as to achievements and objectives, and changes existing strategies whenever necessary to reach those goals. Coordinates efforts with subordinates to reach or exceed established standards of production; such as efficiency, pounds per man-hour, net yield, waste index, overweight and moisture percentages of finished product, and machine downtime. Obtains the minimum percentage of finished product out of specification to reach the objective of not exceeding the fixed standard of waste and/or reprocess. Provides to sales product that is of the highest quality. Coordinates the different departments in their tasks (production, production control, and inventory control) to provide sales with the necessary products, in a timely manner, in the correct quantities and with the expected quality. Develops and/or updates operations procedures intended to create uniformity in the operation of equipment that serve as guides for training among operator personnel to reach the established standard of quality and quantity, such as reduction of downtime, imputable wastes and lack of knowledge of equipment. Supervises and controls the completion of established standards in reference to consumption, quality, yield, etc. of the necessary materials and packaging materials used in the manufacturing of our finished product. Monitors and coordinates the existence of necessary material and packaging material required to manufacture the scheduled products. Evaluates the necessities for training of personnel .and.amp; provides training to personnel in identified areas, and to maintain a record of that training. (Example: Safety, Sanitation, Operations Practices, and Work instructions.) Conducts monthly departmental meetings, and maintains their documentation. Conducts weekly Safety and Sanitation inspections, and maintains their documentation. Resolves conflict within group, issues disciplinary actions and special recognition, and maintains their documentation. Ensures permanent solutions are implemented for re-occurring problems. Ensures all department and organizational training is completed and recorded appropriately according to organizational guidelines. Ensures that work instructions, procedures, job descriptions, etc. are followed. Communicates across departments and shifts to determine condition of operations and priorities. Promotes safety among plant employees. Including but not limited to LOTO. Controls budget through reduction and control of overtime and manages receiving budget within operational procedures. Participates with Safety, Sanitation, Quality and new products Committees .and.amp; actively participates in the HACCP Team, responsible for but not limited to Internal auditing, training, implementation, and corrective actions Works in a safe manner, observing all safety requirements Verifies GMP s and Safety stand
