Job Description

Safety Coordinator Responsibility Description:

  1. Coordinate site safety for Moorhead Malt Plant

  2. Utilize VPO tools to achieve KPI targets and close gaps in performance (root cause analysis, Gap analysis, MCRS meeting schedules and action logs, 5-why’s, PDCA and SCDA cycles, etc.)

  3. Lead application and execution of VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization) for area (manage PI visual boards)

  4. Coordinate weekly safety walks and own analysis roll up

  5. Coordinate safety training

  6. SOP owner for LOTO and Confined Space documentation.

  7. PPE owner for the facility

  8. SAFE form program owner, analyze, roll up results and report out

  9. Safety visual board owner

  10. Leader of the safety committee

  11. Help develop and participate in all Incident or Accident investigations

  12. Coordinate site security, gate control and building access

  13. Coordinate safety celebrations, gifts, luncheons, and monthly safety breaks (snacks during ECM)

  14. Owner of safety share calendar, videos

  15. Contractor and visitor safety training

Job Qualifications

Safety Coordinator Qualifications:

  1. High School education or GED

  2. Work experience to include manufacturing

  3. Basic knowledge of grain handling systems

  4. Knowledge of the malting process preferred

  5. Strong interpersonal, communication, technical/problem solving skills

  6. Ability to extract, evaluate and utilize data for process improvement from applicable systems

  7. After hours call support

  8. Monday – Friday day shift with opportunities for overtime

  9. Effectively manages time between the floor and administrative duties
