In a few words, what do we expect of you?

The Team Leader acts as a liaison between team members and the rest of the organization to align resources and support associates in the most efficient and effective manner to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People performance goals to one or more value streams or departments. The Team Leader provides support to the team, under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, coordinates workloads, provides support to ensure the team delivers by monitoring and escalating any issues, committed to continuous improvement, and ensuring production targets and quality standards meet customer requirements. Working under the direction of a Production Supervisor, the Team Leader models adherence to Integer Values on the team and demonstrates Integer leadership competencies that foster team engagement and performance.

Ensure manufacturing excellence:

You are the key support leader for alignment, monitoring and coordination of resources to optimize production activities in the area by:

  • Ensuring safety of the team through adherence to safety procedures, conducting safety and hazard checks, and supporting / encouraging local ergonomic programs.

  • Engaging in Team Leader Standard Work by monitoring the Manufacturing System Design and working with all associates to deploy and support a world class Lean Manufacturing System.

  • Supporting the team by walking the floor, addressing questions, resolving issues, and escalating concerns to the Supervisor or appropriate support team member.

  • Monitoring and auditing standard work of associates, supporting 5S, conducting process checks and taking appropriate action to bring into compliance.

  • Provide input, feedback, and suggestions related to improving safety, quality, throughput, OE performance, and culture.

  • Participating in workshops and projects focused on quality, continuous improvement, new product development and new equipment installations, as required. Support and engage the team:

  • Leads by example, modeling Integer values through action

  • Leads morning huddles and communicates with associates

  • Actively listens, seeking opportunities to engage team members in structured problem solving to identify countermeasures, resolve issues, and make improvements in the area

  • Working knowledge of jobs and equipment to step in in emergencies and implement countermeasures

  • Supports the onboarding and training of new team members

  • Coordinates cross-training plans for associates

  • Supports associate development and growth in their training and skills

What a typical day looks like:

  • Coordinates shift change discussions, identifies resource needs and alignment, and collects data for production boards.

  • Participates in daily production board meetings, explains area performance results, and identifies causes of misses. Creates shift summaries/logs for next shift to ensure smooth transition.

  • Work in conjunction with Supervisor and production planning to follow production schedules and assign staff to jobs based on training and experience.

  • Identifies bottlenecks and redeploys resources, if required.

  • Ensures workflow between stations, cells, and/or departments and prepares for upcoming production work.

  • Monitors Production Status Reports (PSR) for throughput, OE%, and reasons for scrap, downtime, and misses and implements countermeasures through problem solving or escalation to support team.

  • Audit processes and product including but not limited to 5S, Safety, Quality, Production, to ensure associates adhere to Integer policies and procedures

Job Requirements

Minimum Education:

High school graduate or equivalent. Associate’s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

5 years Greatbatch related work experience and/or 7+ years light assembly experience in a regulated industry required; medical device experience preferred.

Specialized Knowledge:

Computer proficiency. Ability to read, comprehend and follow detailed instruction. Must possess the ability to recognize obvious defects in workmanship. Demonstrates competency in multiple critical assembly processes.

Special Skills:

Excellent communication skills required. Familiarity with microscopes and measuring devices required. Certification for industry specific assembly requirements such as IPC soldering standards for the Medical device and Military markets desired. Technical training in welding, material science, and one year related quality experience preferred.


Proficient in assembly operations over a wide range of products and processes and is able and willing to fill in where needed to maintain production flow. Will train others in assembly operations.
