Fairview Health Services Supervisor- Central Processing Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

Fairview Health Services is looking for Central Processing Center Supervisor based out of the University of Minnesota Medical Center (West Bank) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is a full time benefit eligible position working between the hours of 11:00 am and 7:30 pm. This position requires you are able to work one weekend a month.

Responsibilities/Job Description

The Central Processing Center Supervisor is responsible for and given the necessary authority to supervise the daily operations of the Central Processing Center to include: instrument decontamination, instrument assembly, floor tray and metal ware manufacturing, steam and ETO sterilizing, inventory control, distribution, transportation, and staffing

  • Supervise the day-to-day business operations of the Central Processing Center to ensure that the Center meets the sterile instrument, metal ware, floor trays and linen needs of Fairview hospitals.

  • Assist the Operations Manager with human resource management within the department to achieve the required productivity standards in a safe environment, and quality services. (Quality triangle (products 100% clean, sterile, and on time)

  • Assist with managing CPC resources effectively.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining an environment, which supports employee engagement and customer service, so Fairview is known for its leadership in customer service.

  • Accountable for communications between shifts within the department, to ensure that information is shared for effective operations, and to promote positive employee relations. Communications with all customer sites to assure instrument and supply needs are being met and necessary problem resolution occurs.

  • Knowledgeable in and utilizes Department Technology.

  • Assist the department in meeting scorecard and process improvement goals. Provides input into the department planning process

  • Supervises the daily compliance to safety and regulatory requirements according to JCAHO, AAMI, AORN, OSH and Department of Health, and infection control requirements.

  • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Two years of supervisory/management experience in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Sterile Processing or Surgery.

  • IAHCSMM CRCST certification is required within 12 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Arts or Science in Supply Chain, Business, Management, Nursing, or Certified Instrument Processing Technician.

  • Four years as a Surgical Technician in Surgery and supervisory/management experience.

  • Two years of supervisory/management experience in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Sterile Processing or Surgery.

  • CMRP, APIC, Certified Surgical Technician or Certified Instrument Processing Technician.
