A Sr. Sculptor is responsible for roughing in clay geometry by packing clay, creating templates and creating initial surfaces utilizing clay modeling tools and interpreting sketches and renderings. They are also responsible for building clay and hard model armatures to CAD and sketch specs. They will then take the models to a presentation level of A surface refinement either alone or by leading a team of Associate Sculptors and Sculptors to a high level of accuracy while coordinating the project with the Lead Industrial Designer and Management. The process will be self directed with a high level of execution, speed and efficiency. They will also be responsible for creating cast components utilizing a variety of casting processes such as plaster and fiberglass. This person must be adaptable to change and refinement in programs.
A Sculptor will also be responsible for organizing and providing housekeeping duties to the clay studio, shop area and display room.
A Sculptor is responsible for:
Roughing in clay
Use of shop equipment
Able to use material
Day to day upkeep of areas
Assembly and disassembly of vehicles
Lead programs singularly
Coordinate projects with Industrial Designers
Able to achive a presentation level A surface finish
Achive a high level of accuracy
High level of execution, speed and efficiency
Understands and executes process from start to finish
Leads at least one Major program with Associate and Sculptors
Excellent communication skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Roughing in clay geometry by packing clay, creating templates and creating initial surfaces utilizing clay modeling tools and interpreting sketches and renderings. Building clay and hard model armatures to CAD and sketch specs.
Take the models to a presentation level of A surface refinement with high accuracy, speed and efficiency
Lead a team of Associate Sculptors and Sculptors on a program.
Coordinate the project with the Lead Industrial Designer and Management.
Self-directed process with a high level of execution, speed and efficiency.
2.Creating Cast components utilizing a variety of casting processes.
3.Upkeep of clay, shop and display room areas

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:
BS/BA or equivalent experience in the art of sculpting, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Design.
10+ Years experience
Powersports or Automotive experience a plus
Mechanical knowledge required
Good team player
Strong leadership skills
Class A surfacing skills
Flexibility with a changing environment
Team-based, collaborative, fast-paced, studio environment

Education Requirements 4 Year Degree or Higher Preferred
