Job Description The Innovation Center Lead owns planning, directing, and coordinating team members, vendors, and work to ensure successful day-to-day operation of the Innovation Center. This position is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, efficiency, safety, and capabilities of RandD experimental and production runs. Direct reports includes Innovation Center Assistant Lead, Innovation Center Technician, and Innovation Center Temporary resources. The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following: Team Member Leadership Partner with Assistant IC Lead to ensure proper staffing is maintained, including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new IC team members Lead management and direct reports regarding daily tasks Encourage team member initiative and innovation and show recognition for effort and achievement. Appraise work performance: conduct appropriate reviews for team members; give coaching/discipline as appropriate in a consistent and timely manner. Ensure training and skill building of Assistant IC Lead to ensure coverage of work IC Operations Leadership Manage IC capacity, own schedule creation, adjust as needed, and manage communication including prioritization (as appropriate) Support quality standards, inventory accuracy and production planning schedules Lead management, scheduling, and execution of sales samples Lead management of vendors for ongoing IC and lab operations Own and drive continuous improvement mindset in IC to standardize processes as well as identify and deliver improvements in efficiency and quality Demonstrate close collaboration with key cross-functional team members including, but not limited to Finance, Procurement, Logistics, Operations, FSQ, and PMOs Main point of contact for business partners as it relates to IC needs Evaluate new equipment and techniques with a focus on safety Review / monitor monthly operations budget with Head of RandD and discuss budget overruns Assist in preparation of annual operation budgets in order to achieve budgets Safety and Quality Leadership Ensure that all RandD team members are adequately and properly trained in safety, sanitation procedures, chemical handling and GMP s, etc. Adhere to food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. USDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA) Manage adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals. Ensure close partnership with FSQ including communicating and resolving all quality and production issues with appropriate team members Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
