Consolidated Precision Products Minneapolis CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Consolidated Precision Products (CPP), an aerospace and defense manufacturing company, has an immediate need for a CNC Machinist to join our team! This is a 2nd shift position (2:00pm - 10:30pm), reporting to the Supervisor of Machining at our plant in Bloomington, MN. This position is responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce parts in accordance with detailed engineering drawings, customer and ISO Certifications. Blue-print reading experience is preferred in this position. The CNC Machinist will work with other CNC Machinists to effectively set up, run, and trouble shoot new and existing parts and production lots, as well as successfully detect malfunctions in machine operations. Major Job Functions: Read, understand, and interpret instructions and procedures including engineering blueprints accurately. Experience in micrometers, inside micrometers, calipers, and other tool shop and inspections equipment. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee Perform targeting procedures on all standard and complex castings, including inspections, alignment, grinding, and cutting references points consistent with specifications and standards of quality and quantity Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results). Must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results). Assist in other work areas, including but not limited to, perform fabrication, lay-up, infiltration, furnace operation and sand blasting Requirements: High school diploma required Vocational or technical training in a similar field, graduate from a certified technical school preferred Requires an extensive knowledge of targeting procedures, techniques, and basic foundry practices in addition to acquired additional specific knowledge in the targeting area usually acquired through two to three years of targeting experience Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk the length of the plant several times per day, ability to pass an eye exam Ability to lift equipment up to 30lbs.
