Take pride in working with powerful brands, including Purina Animal Nutrition, Nutra Blend, WinField United, Vermont Creamery, KozyShack, and more.You'll join a global team committed to everything from the seeds that go into the ground, to the technology that improves crop yields and sustainability, to the nutrition that animals need, to marketing the final product.Production Operator - $21.26/hr. - 5:00PM - 5:30AMThe Production Operator is an entry level production role with Land O'Lakes in Melrose, MN and will be responsible for ensuring proper sealing, closing, labeling, handling and storage of all cheese barrels.Hourly base wage: $21.26 HourHours: 12 hour rotating shift 5:00 PM - 5:30 AMNight Shift Differential pay $0.80 per Hour= $22.06 Hour*This role may require overtime, off shift hours, weekends or holidays as needed.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Land O' Lakes Melrose, MN location make bulk parmesan and cheddar cheese barrels that are used by other food processors to create finished cheese products. The production operator will be responsible to close the finished cheese barrels. Specific duties include sealing bags, weighing bags, as well as scanning and placing labels on the cheese barrels. Operators will also do general cleaning tasks in area.The production operator will also work in the Cooler area moving barrels and doing general cleaning tasks. Must be able to work in a cold and/or hot environment and wear personal protective equipment and follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety guidelines and requirements.Education:High School diploma or equivalentExperience:6 months of verifiable work experience.Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not requiredRequirements:Ability to work in a manufacturing team environmentAbility to perform basic math equationsAbility to utilize basic computer and software programsAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to perform problem solving skillsAbility to work variable shifts, weekends, and holidaysAbility to meet the physical demands of the position - walking, standing, lifting items up to 50 lbs, bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery.Maintains prompt and regular job attendanceAbility to work overtimeESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:At times, you may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty. Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends.At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required.
