3M is seeking an Optimized Operations (O2) Manager for the Lean Six Sigma – Optimized Operations group located in Maplewood, MN. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.

Job Summary:

3M Optimized Operations (O2) is an accelerated entry-level development program for new and recent college graduates. This program focuses on recruiting, hiring, training, and developing engineers, supply chain analysts, EHS professionals, and others to support 3M’s manufacturing and supply chain operations across the United States.

The O2 Manager’s role is to lead the Optimized Operations Program in the recruiting, hiring, training, development, and supervision of entry level engineers and analysts to ensure a healthy pipeline of talent to drive results in support of strategic goals for 3M’s manufacturing and supply chain organizations.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead Strategic planning to ensure that O2 meets the future demands for Manufacturing and Supply Chain talent.

  • Build and maintain strong network with client divisions and supporting groups.

  • Provide ethical, effective leadership in candidate selection and employee development to grow and strengthen the 3M talent pool.

  • Direct supervision to O2 staff and O2s in the program while living and promoting 3M's Leadership Behaviors. Support personal development of all direct reports.

  • Collaborate and maintain strong alignment with 3M’s manufacturing organizations, University and Diversity Relations teams, and corporate Human Resources group

  • Continual improvement of world class training curriculum

  • Responsible for managing O2 Green Belt Projects aligned to: Growth, Cost, and Cash Targets.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university

  • Minimum of three (3) years direct supervision in a private, public, government or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline or supply chain management from an accredited university

  • Minimum of five (5) years direct supervision experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years working in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring

  • Lean Six Sigma Certified Black Belt

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interest in building 3M’s talent pool

  • Ability to function successfully in a highly dynamic, collaborative environment

Location: Maplewood, MN

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic

Relocation: Is authorized
