The Mankato Minnesota facility is seeking a Quality Manager to be the site quality representative internally to management, employees and externally to our customers and vendors. The candidate must have a good understanding of the technologies involved in the design, manufacture and test of the site’s products. The candidate should have experience with how an effective Quality Management System can ensure quality in our products and positively impact achieving the site’s business goals. The Quality Manager works with others on the site leadership team to achieve performance goals driving to customer satisfaction.


Implementing and managing the Quality production program to ensure that all manufactured products meet quality standards, corporate specifications, and customer requirements.


  • Meet and maintain all divisional Quality Management System objectives, including year over year defect/credit reduction, and Quality Management System implementation targets.

  • Direct the activities, duties, and projects of the QC and Lab Technicians to assure compliance to customer specifications.

  • Serve as the plant’s contact for customer complaints and customer compliance audits. Maintain reporting systems for internal and external complaints.

  • Execute and manage Six Sigma, Process Improvement, and Lean projects. Track and report all financial validated savings through the Berry Global, Inc. tracking database.

  • Communicate plant quality expectations and monitor performance relative to the objectives in a timely and effective manner.

  • Actively solicit input from all employees to aid in successfully accomplishing the above listed actions.

  • Must facilitate and support Berry’s Continuous Improvement processes (LEAN, 5’s, Six Sigma, etc.).

  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, develop, implement, and document Quality Management System for maintenance and control of products and processes.

  • Serve as the plant’s Safe Quality Food Practitioner.

  • Travel 25%

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent practical experience

  • Five to seven years’ experience in Quality Management, Engineering Management, Production Management and/or Project Management in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be a certified Six Sigma Black Belt or be willing to attain certification as part of the selection for this position.

  • Leadership experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

  • ISO experience a plus.

  • SQF exprience desired.
