Quality Inspector 173100-313 We are hiring for the follow shifts: 2nd Shift - Monday-Friday - 4:00PM-12:00AM 3rd Shift - Monday-Friday - 12:00AM-8:00AM 4th Shift - Saturday-Monday - 8:00AM to 8:00PM Responsibilities Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results Duties - Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. - Approves in-process production by confirming specifications per Job Book specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor. - Perform audits in accordance with the requirements listed in the job book that is created for each product. - Perform visual and physical inspection of product to ensure parts conform to customer requirements per the job book control plan (Inspector and Auditor Section). - Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products to Production supervisor if re-work is necessary; creating Hold and Re-work Tickets. - Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database. - Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed. - Follow existing QMS processes, including: Document control, inspection and test, record control, Nonconforming product (Hold Tickets), Corrective Action verification, and others as assigned. - Coordinate with auditor partner/s an effective plan to ensure each press is covered a minimum of 2 times per shift. - Review the work area at each press and at all other manufacturing sites to ensure it is safe, clean, and set-up to allow for effective production and inspection activities. - Read the contents of each job book each time a part is being manufactured, and ensure that the details are understood by you and the Inspector. - Work with Manufacturing to ensure start-ups are effective and that product visually is conforming. - File job books when the order is complete, and return sample boxes to the correct location. * Provide a minimum of 1 break at presses for morning and afternoon breaks, as well as lunchtime. * Conduct Orientation Training for new Inspectors, when applicable. * Conduct customer specific training for selected lines of product (i.e. Genova, ATK, ITW, etc.) for Inspectors. * Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. * Actively participate in the reporting of production/manufacturing issues at Tier 1 meetings, and escalate issues to Quality Assurance team or Manufacturing and Quality Manager when applicable. * 1 Year of experience in Manufacturing is desired. * Experience in QA a plus. * Possess excellent interpersonal skills and adequate written and verbal skills. * Basic ability to read blueprints (engineering drawings) * Experience with computers is a must.
