Your Opportunity: Travel Tags is seeking a Night Shift Production Supervisor who is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day flow of work through Manufacturing at its Inver Grove Heights location. This includes coordination of production and labor planning to efficiently produce product within prescribed quality standards, on time and at or below budget and process improvement. This position must also work effectively with other teams on a regular basis to meet production demands and balance loads within the entire plant. Your Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10pm - 7am (schedule to be flexible, per manufacturing needs changes) Your Responsibilities: Direct and participate in process improvement events using a variety of tools to include Six Sigma, 5S and lean manufacturing techniques and include ongoing continuous improvement. Create and maintain a continuous one-piece flow in the wide format finishing area. Manage and improve the department through effective use of the Flow and Performance (F.and.P) board by creating and updating standard work documents and job aids as needed. Promote learning and understanding and the use of the 14 principles to improve process and production as part of management methods. Establish schedule for all jobs based on relevant criteria to include due date, customer, size of order, availability of components and prioritization of rush jobs. Create the master schedule; monitor and modify the schedule to ensure 95% on-time delivery of products to customers. Monitor inventory levels to ensure that accurate inventory quantities can be used for the creation of the production schedule. Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data and determines estimated processing time for each job by balancing the workload with equipment and people requirements. Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Establish and maintain daily G7 color compliance by collaborating with the G7 manager and production operators. Establish and maintain crating and packaging materials for all projects that require special shipping. Regularly provide performance feedback, coaching, and documentation to support corrective actions to ensure development and to motivate positive behaviors. Identify all materials/components needed to produce a job and the availability of materials before releasing job to production; assist in reducing lead time. Interface with Purchasing (Plant Office) and vendors to coordinate the delivery of materials and establish reorder points for stock, inventory, and supplies based on tracked usage. Consult with management regarding long term planning of capacity needs and supporting resources. Interface effectively with Customers, Sales and Customer Service as needed to resolve scheduling or delivery issues. Work with management to develop, maintain and update a visual tool that shows the status of all jobs. Participate in the daily production meeting to ensure the smooth flow of all digital jobs and contribute to the success of the Company.
