This is an exciting opportunity in Fridley, Minnesota for an Assembler II (Second Shift.)

Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Systems Product Validation.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

The Assembly II position performs a series of mechanical and electrical assembly operation, manually and using a variety of hand and air powered tools, to assemble generator sets, controls, sub-assemblies, and harness assemblies, by reading engineering prints and process documentation.

Applicants must be flexible to work any shift as determined by business needs.1st shift, 7:00am - 3:00 pm, or second shift, 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Overtime may be required with proper notification. If overtime is required, first shift hours are 5:00 am - 3:00 pm, and second shift hours are 3:00 pm to 1:00 am.

  • Produce quality work by following defined departmental procedures and process documentation

  • Follows engineering prints, assembly requirement files, schematics, wiring diagrams, or assembly procedures to determine necessary parts and proper assembly methods

  • Inspects, operates, and tests assembly units to verify function and conformance to product specifications

  • Participates actively in the identification of ways to improve quality, safety, material flow, and employee development

  • Participates in all workplace safety and environmental policies and procedures by wearing proper personal protective equipment, and keeping work area safe and clean.

Qualifications Required:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 1-3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Must be able to attain a hoist and crane certification (provided by Cummins)

Compensation and Benefits:

Base hourly rate $19.25/hour with step progression to $22.65/hour. Second Shift Differential ($0.70.) Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
