Lead and coordinate assigned project activities with direction and input form the Plant Manager and staff group.

Design and build visual boards to include hr by hr boards, tier boards and accountability boards.

Apply painted or taped shadow lines.

Assist in developing and managing Kanban system.

Report status and problem areas to facilitate corrective actions when needed.

Work from demonstration, instructions or prints.

Work on safety related tasks as assigned.

Ability to report equipment and material discrepancies effectively.

Develop, implement, audit and assist with 5S systems in assigned areas.

Perform 5S activities – Clean and paint equipment. Create shadow boards. Paint department layouts. Label processes and equipment.

Assist in developing standard work, visual controls, accountability processes, production tracking systems, and productivity improvements as assigned.

Assist the shop floor in creating a workplace that is clearly organized and clutter free.

Recognize and eliminate waste in production area, take active role in continuous improvement culture (lean).

Will work in multiple departments in the plant on a regular basis.

Will work in manufacturing as needed and required.

Communicates well with all levels of the organization.

Maintain equipment and work area in neat, orderly condition in accordance with standard work and 5S criteria.

Use of basic machines and hand tools such as saws, hand drills, punches, presses, nail/staple guns, hammers, screwdrivers.

Use of basic maintenance tools such as drill presses, horizontal band saws, sanders, table saws and grinders.

Use decimal tape measure, calipers, micrometers, comparators, gages, fixtures and other quality equipment to maintain control of process.

Computer skills in Microsoft office products required.
