Robert Half International Billing Supervisor/Manager in Farmington, Minnesota

Description

Responsible for the planning, preparation and management of the day-to-day operations of the billing department. Supervises billing personnel, the credit field representative and meter reader staff. This position reports to the Vice President of Financial Services / CFO.

Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the billing department. Provide coaching and support to the billing, credit and meter reading teams.

  2. Manage the billing supervisor, credit field representative and meter reading personnel. Responsible for adhering to company operating guidelines and policies; training, hiring, promotions, compensation, termination, assigning and directing work, performance management and disciplining employees.

  3. Identify, develop and implement continuous improvements to the billing system with a focus on producing timely and accurate bills. Work closely with the Information Services department and system vendor to resolve system-related issues.

  4. Ensure billing policies and procedures are being followed and in compliance with the company and the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission requirements.

  5. Develop the annual billing department operating budget.

  6. Manage the field collection process and communicate with the collection agencies.

  7. Leverage reporting tools to provide monthly reports to the department Vice President and adhoc analysis as requested.

  8. Represent the billing department on cross-functional project teams.

  9. Subject matter expert for billing in accordance with rate schedules and is the primary contact for external auditor billing related questions.

  10. Coordinate and monitor bill processing vendor activities and meter reading services.

  11. Complies with established Dakota Electric Association safety and/or operating rules, procedures and guidelines; responsible for co-workers that report to this position.

Supervision/Direction of Others

  1. Directly supervises CIS(customer information system)/Billing Supervisor, CIS/Billing Administrators, Credit Field Representative and Meter Reading Staff. Indirectly supervises all other employees that report to the CIS/Billing Supervisor.

  2. Gives direction to contract meter reading personnel.

  3. Gives direction to CIS vendor.
