Jennie-O Turkey Store Wash/Disinfect Leader-Dodge Center, MN in Faribault, Minnesota
Responsible to assist Breeder Production Supervisor with interviews, hires, reprimands, and terminations of assigned crew team employees, in direct communication with Human Resources and within guidelines set forth by company policies.
Under the direction of, and in communication with the Breeder Supervisor, be responsible for ongoing employee job training and development, safety training, and job task rotation of all assigned crew team employees.
Responsible to assist supervisor evaluating all assigned crew team employees with the use of mid-year review evaluations on an annual basis.
Manage farms activities (Primarily washing buildings and sanitizing also assisting in vaccinating, selecting, catching of turkeys, etc.) In direct communication with and in assistance to the Breeder Production Supervisor or in such manner as to achieve optimum performance.
Responsible for cleaning and disinfection of all turkey barns to achieve salmonella free Go-No-Go sampling results
Salmonella free status on all Go-No-Go sampling results
Maintain quality and expertise of selection and vaccination procedures and standards of breeder flock replacements.
Demonstrate proficiency in the tasks of animal husbandry, driving, vaccinating, selecting turkeys, washing, and disinfecting Turkey barns.
Keep accurate records on professional tasks accomplished, including labor, disinfecting records, etc. being familiar with profit plan procedure.
Be familiar with and responsible for maintaining equipment in good repair, having equipment and materials associated with the planned activities of each day on site, in advance, and/or prepared to go on site at scheduled departure time of each day.
Good work history - Internal position as an Insemination/Flock specialist or stability with previous employment (breeder turkey insemination). Must be able to catch grow-store hen turkeys, catch toms, vaccinate BFR turkeys, operate and maintain pressure washing equipment.
Performance results must have " MET EXPECTATIONS" with previous employer, and/or Jennie-O Turkey Store (internal candidate) in the following:
Must have a valid driver's license with good vehicle operating record
Must be in good physical condition (able to wear respiratory, eye protection, and any/all safety protection wear for extended periods of time). No restrictions against physical repetitive activities of bending, twisting, or lifting. No restrictions prohibiting work in a hot, dusty environment with ammonia present
Must have basic math ability to perform record keeping tasks
Good mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools to perform repairs (vaccination chutes, vaccination tables, vaccination guns, and washing equipment etc.) as obtained through previous experience or education
Must possess the ability to effectively manage and direct the activities of assigned crew
Must possess the ability to effectively manage and lead people
No performance work actions in the last 6 months
No attendance work actions in the last 6 months
PHYSICAL: Able to wear eye and wash gear equipment on a continuous basis.
Able to work both inside and outside in varying degrees of temperature and humidity
While performing job duties be able to bend and twist continuously, work above ground on a scissor lift occasionally
Carry 10 - 60 pound containers of disinfectants occasionally
Experience in breeder turkey vaccination techniques with the associated activities of selecting, vaccinating, and barn washing etc., and standard performance results (2 year as an insemination or Flock Specialist
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid class "A" CDL drivers license
