The primary role of the 2nd Shift Final Test Team Lead is to lead team members from the Final Test department to safely accomplish all of the production, quality, and cleaning tasks normally associated with the department.
Responsibilities and expectations for the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Lead by example.
Be the primary point of contact for their area for a specified shift.
Quickly produce a production plan and stage materials for a quick start up.
Plan ahead to ensure a quick and smooth start.
Cross train the team to ensure depth at each position.
Lead the shift start meeting and communicate shift plan with the Process Technicians.
Take responsibility for the safety and discipline of the shift.
Verbal and written verbal warnings can/will be initiated by the Team Leader.
All written warnings will be created and delivered with the Department Supervisor.
Be responsible for the organization and prioritization of the shift activities (including breaks and manning positions).
Manage employee Paid Time Off requests (PTO) with the Department Supervisor.
Work closely with the other supervisors, team leads, engineers, managers, and the maintenance team.
Complete the pass down report for the shift.
Be responsible for the escalation of issues to the Department Supervisor, other supervisors, engineers, managers, the safety manager, etc.
Fill in as required for breaks or PTO coverage to continue operation of the line.
Ensure a smooth shift handover so that the next shift is properly prepared for a good start.
Required skills include:
Experience planning in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working on off hours shift.
Work swell under pressure.
For internal candidates, be an Assistant Team Leader with a history of successful cross training and a high competency score, 60+ (internal candidates).
Two non-family references that can be contacted for work performance history.
An excellent attendance record.
A history of reliability.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Past leadership experience preferred
Ability to work closely with operational teams, plant maintenance technicians and production engineers.
Experience with MS Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, Work, Power Point and One Note.
Experience creating shift or pass down reports is a plus.
