3M is seeking a Quality Control Technician for the Patient Warming Business located in Eden Prairie, MN At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.

Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Quality Control Technician will inspect and verify products to specifications. Determine proper product configuration and performance using engineering instructions such as product prints. Compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Incoming Inspection

a. Insure conformance of components to their specifications.

b. Maintain and update incoming inspection files, procedures and related required documentation.

c. Ensure component specifications are complete.

d. Disposition, document and report nonconforming materials and when necessary with vendors regarding corrective action.

e. Communicate with purchasing & quality engineering on nonconforming materials and when

necessary with vendors regarding corrective action.

f. Communicate material dispositions to purchasing, inventory and accounting. i.e. Scrap, return to vendor for credit, etc.

g. Participates in the development of reports for Q.A. and purchasing on the status of vendor performance with regards to quality.

h. Develop and implement indices for vendor/component quality.

  1. Support internal and external audits

a. Assist in implementation of corrective action required as a result of audits.

b. Perform product inspections/audits in manufacturing as identified by quality engineering.

  1. Nonconforming product handling

a. Ensure nonconforming product is handled appropriately.

b. Communicate nonconforming product to appropriate personnel.

c. Assist in development and implementation of corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of

nonconforming product.

This position will require:

  • Weekend work

  • Working overtime

  • Working on holidays as needed

  • Short notice shift coverage

  • Working 2nd Shift, 2:00-10:30PM

  • Frequent physical demands including lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher

  • Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s/Two (2) year technical degree or higher from an accredited institution

  • Strong computer skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Attention to detail and an ability to produce error free products and accurately complete paperwork
