This is an opportunity to join the Experimental Engineering team which is tasked with the development of new components and technologies for the future generation of aircraft. The primary responsibility of the Experimental Fabrication Technician will be to fabricate prototype aircraft components using a variety of materials, processes, and equipment. This position places a premium on the individual continuously learning new methods, applying new industry technologies, and providing long term value to the company. The individual must be self-motivated, have a high degree of integrity, strong verbal skills, and be very comfortable working with a highly diverse cross functional team.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Fabricate parts primarily from sheet metal using the appropriate hand and power tools.
Daily use of equipment such as hydraulic brake, power shear, band saw, and drill press.
Hand forming components with vise, hammer, rollers, grinders, and sanders.
Work from mental concepts, verbal instructions, hand-sketches, or blueprints.
Select methods and materials to ensure the part meets the final design criteria.
Envision the full process of the build – layout through completion.
Collaborate with a wide audience to develop technologies and designs.
Possess strong creative mind and extreme attention to detail.

5-7 years of combined schooling and industry experience.
Possess a broad, fabrication based skillset used to fabricate high precision aircraft parts.
Must have the ability to fabricate to print and verify accuracy using precision measuring instruments.
Familiar with brake, shear, drill press, and a variety of manual and pneumatic riveting equipment.
