The person hired for the position of Manufacturing Supervisor will primarily be responsible for Supervising and managing all functions involved in the production of products in a safe and economic fashion. Responsible for supervision, training, safety performance, product quality, cost control, employee communications, employee morale and productivity.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide leadership and supervision for production employees in the MRD Fine Chemicals factory at Cottage Grove
Coordinate and implement production schedules, maintenance activities, training of production personnel
Lead and direct safety activities (permits, investigations, improvement activities)
Update corporate and local systems such as Cybershift, WIMs, etc
Seek and drive continuous improvement opportunities to improve EHS and compliance and reduce operating expenses.
This position may require working straight shifts or rotating shifts in addition to weekends.
Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing or production experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Minimum five years of manufacturing plant experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Good interpersonal, communication, prioritization, organizational skills, and computer skills
Self-directed and detail oriented.
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to identify and resolve process and product issues
Ability to create, lead and work in a team atmosphere.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and influence changes with operators as well as other plant employees and management team members
Ability to produce results through continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. lean six sigma) and provide impact through cost reduction programs, quality improvements, and safety of work environment.

Travel: May include up to 10%
