JBS USA BREEDER/HATCHERY MANAGER in Cold Spring, Minnesota

POSITION SUMMARY: The Breeder/Hatchery Manager is responsible for efficient, economical production of quality chicks to meet corporate needs, as well as maintaining buildings and property. Responsible for maintaining excellent working relationships with Breeder Growers and obtaining maximum production of highest quality hatching eggs, while supervising the Breeder Department and associated personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

1.Work as a member of a Team with other Managers to: communicate regularly, cooperate fully, and strive to continually improve overall performance in all associated areas. Works with the Breeder and Hatchery Departments to optimize the day-to-day and ongoing functions of both areas to meet or exceed Budgets and Goals. Develop new ideas/plans for potential improvements with supervised areas.

2.Develop the people by providing: examples-personal instruction, using available company training (videos, seminars, etc.). Provide safe working environment for all employees. Continuous emphasis on safety at team meetings.

  • Maintain company policies and processes to assure standards are upheld for safety, quality, and team member satisfaction.

4.Responsible for developing and implementing goals and budgets for both the hatchery and breeder departments.

5.Maintain regular communication with Director of Live Operations to resolve questions, problems and aid in the development of new ideas and processes.

6.Responsible to supervise breeder operations to facilitate optimal performance and rapid response to problem areas for resolution. Maintain regular communication with Hatchery/Breeder personnel.

7.Other duties as required by management and supervision.

  • Bachelors Degree Required , agricultural or business related field and 1-3 years of related experience

  • Ability to lead and coach others

  • Must have a valid class D license; Good Driving record
