Description
Oversee and provide technical support for moderate to high complexity product assessment processes for multiple product lines within the Reagent Manufacturing QC department.

General * First level supervisor who provides immediate supervision to 12 associates in a busy production environment * Directs and optimizes workflow of quality control department * Engages and develops talent of the team * Ensures quality systems adherence and integrity in a regulated environment Technical Experience * Review quality records and processes to ensure compliance to all FDA, QSR/cGMP, ISO and Quality Policies of Beckman Coulter. * Share developed process knowledge with operators when non-conformances are identified. * Display a deep understanding of testing procedures and company policies. * Analyze testing data and evaluate for trends and/or shifts using experience to generate conclusions. * Demonstrate Good Laboratory techniques and procedures and has fundamental knowledge of medical industry practices. * Perform moderate to high complexity product assessment testing for multiple product lines. Accountability and Impact * Prioritize daily/weekly work assignments to meet production needs. * Produce work of the highest quality. * Administers policies and procedures and ensures projects are completed on schedule using company procedures and precedents * Decisions and results have a short-term direct impact on work unit operations and resources * Meet regulatory requirements and administer policies and procedures Problem Solving and Innovation * Identify and communicate problems that might affect the quality of integrity of the product and work to resolve issues. * Evaluate test results for compliance to specification and initiate deviations, if necessary. * Participate on continuous process improvement projects. * Resolves routine but technically complex problems using defined processes and coordinates resources to meet short-term objectives Working Relationships * Train other QC Scientists and QC Technicians. * Willingly accept additional duties from QC Management. * Frequently interacts with subordinates and other supervisors to build teamwork and productivity, conduct technical presentations, review timelines/ schedules

Qualification
* High school degree with 8 years’ experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related Life Science field, with 5 years; or Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience * Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. * Understanding of basic statistics. * Knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing. * Direct experience working in a testing lab strongly preferred * Experience with Access family of lab instruments a plus
