The Opportunity | CNC Mill Machinist/Programmer

Under general supervision, programs, operates and maintains the set-ups of CNC machines and tools. Performs a variety of machining operations and modify / write CNC programs when required. And provides mid level programing and machining support. Creates manufacturing process sheets and has extensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Your Challenge:

  • Write and prove out CNC programs when required. Required programming to consist of a moderate level of complexity; typically 3 + 2, and surfacing tool paths. Troubleshoot and diagnose processes to eliminate variability.

  • Interrogates, and interprets customer Online Work Instructions (OWI) along with corresponding Model Based Definition (MBD).

  • Manufactures and inspects detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings and verbal instructions using primarily VMC Haas VF2 and Mori Dura Vertical machines.

  • Maintains manufacturing process sheets for sheet metal parts utilizing CATIA software including assemblies, and located finishes.

  • Keep work area clean and free from safety hazards. Maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level.

Your Expertise:

  • 5+ years of experience with setting up and running CNC Milling machines or 5+ years of experience with setting up and running Vertical Machining Centers (VMC).

  • 5+ years of programming experience is required; ESPRIT is a strong asset.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school is preferred.

  • Strong aptitude for detail and accuracy.

  • High level of problem solving skills to research available resources with strategic thinking to ensure an organized environment.

  • Persistence required to ensure workflow is maintained, and should have self management, initiative, dependability, and time management qualities and attributes.
