We are currently seeking a 2nd shift Team Lead I to join our production team in Cannon Falls, MN. Job Function Acts as a resource for assigned departments/areas by providing employee support, work direction, training, recruiting support and employee development opportunities for all reports. Specific Job Duties * Reviews and coordinates daily production requirements including; safety, quality, delivery and cost with supervisor. Leads team to ensure daily requirements are completed to deliver an outstanding product to Gemini customers. * Develops and supports our culture of trust, respect and empowerment in all employees. * Provides leadership to personnel to effectively utilize the talents, experience and training of department resources. * Coordinates staffing and scheduling for assigned department(s). Assists in determining need for overtime. Schedules vacations for employees. * Trains new employees and works with them to develop skills and job proficiency. Trains employees on approved standard procedures * Champions Lean improvements through the building. Fosters a department culture to empower and engage team mates to make improvements to areas as needed. May work with outside vendors and attend trainings and trade shows to increase knowledge. * Observes and evaluates work performed by employees to ensure that individual and team work performance is acceptable by standards set by the company. Coaches employees on strengths and areas for improvements. Assists employees with development areas. * Assists in the appraisal of performance of department personnel and may make recommendations to ensure that each employee is properly compensated for work performed in accordance with established policy. * Completes a variety of production records and reports as may be required of the department. * Has the ability to fill in or back up positions in times of need. * Works with sales and customers to ensure customer satisfaction. * Works on professional development with supervisor to continue to grow and learn. May perform other reasonably similar lead duties as assigned. Position Requirements * High school diploma or GED * Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, supervisory experience preferred * Proven leadership, coaching, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills. * Understanding of lean manufacturing methods and techniques. * Ability to influence and adapt to continuous improvement driven change within the plant.
