We are currently seeking an overnight Lead Machine Operator to join our production team in Cannon Falls, MN. Pay starting at $22.94 per hour plus a 10% shift differential. **Please note that this position operates on a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts. Schedule is Monday thru Wednesday one week, Monday thru Thursday the next, rotating. Hours are 5pm-5am. Occasional day time shifts required based on business need. Job Function Acts as a resource for assigned departments/areas by providing employee support, work direction, training, recruiting support and employee development opportunities for all reports. Acts as back up in highly technical and maintenance areas of the plant or area of responsibility. Runs the extruder and other equipment in addition to leadership responsibilities. Specific Job Duties Reviews and coordinates daily production requirements including; safety, quality, delivery and cost with supervisor. Leads team to ensure daily requirements are completed to deliver an outstanding product to Gemini customers Coordinates staffing and scheduling for assigned department(s). Assists in determining need for overtime. Schedules vacations for employees Completes a variety of production records and reports as may be required of the department. Develops and supports our culture of trust, respect and empowerment in all employees. Provides leadership to personnel to effectively utilize the talents, experience and training of department resources Trains new employees and works with them to develop skills and job proficiency. Trains employees on approved standard procedure Champions Lean improvements through the building. Fosters a department culture to empower and engage team mates to make improvements to areas as needed. May work with outside vendors and attend training and trade shows to increase knowledge. Observes and evaluates work performed by employees to ensure that individual and team work performance is acceptable by standards set by the company. Coaches employees on strengths and areas for improvements. Assists employees with development areas. Assists in the appraisal of performance of department personnel and may make recommendations to ensure that each employee is properly compensated for work performed in accordance with established policy Works with sales and customers to ensure customer satisfaction Has the qualifications and skills to fill in or back up in areas of responsibility requiring additional skills and knowledge relating to maintenance, repair and installation of plant equipment. Works on professional development with supervisor to continue to grow and learn May perform other reasonably similar lead duties as assigned. Position Requirements High School diploma or GED 2 or more years of experience in production environment, supervisory experience preferred CNC Machining or plastics manufacturing experience preferred Proven leadership, coaching, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills. Understanding of lean manufacturing methods and techniques. Ability to influence and adapt to continuous improvement driven change within the plant.
