We are currently seeking an off-shift Extruder Set-Up Operator to join our production team in Cannon Falls, MN. Pay starting at $21.44 plus a 10% differential in recognition of the off-shift. **Please note that this position operates on a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts with varying days and hours. Typical schedule is Monday-Wednesday one week, Monday-Thursday the next, rotating. Hours are typically 5pm-5am. Schedule can vary to 9am-9pm or 11am-11pm.** Job Function Under limited supervision, the individual sets up and operates extrusion line and tapping machine, adjusting the line speed and controlling heat profiles. Specific Job Duties Sets up and operates sheet extruder equipment. Adjusts and calibrates the blender to ensure proper blend of materials. Changes dies, screws, rolls and dialups on the extruder. Sets up and operates extruding equipment, manufacturing extruded plastic sheets, as required. Brings granulated material to the dryer hopper, and feeds the hopper in an efficient manner. Ensures a steady supply of plastic is delivered from the dryer hopper to the extruder hopper by monitoring the flow of plastic as required. Takes instrument readings on extruder and makes adjustments as required. Takes stacked sheets from the end of the extruder and heat seals the stack in a plastic shrink wrap. Covers the stack with cardboard and bands stack. Operates other Secondary Equipment as needed (e.g. Off-Line Laminator, Screen-Print Operator) Records material used during the shift by the job, and provides such information to the Material Handler for entry into the computer. Helps unload scrap from semi-trailers by operating a forklift as required. Secures equipment and plant facilities at the end of the shift. Maintains an effective working relationship with all department employees. Maintains a neat and orderly work area at all times. Uses all required safety supplies and procedures at all items. May perform similar or related duties as required.
