JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform a variety of operations including mechanical assembly, wiring, installing, soldering, and/or other operations required for completion of product, using mechanical and manual tools in a manner which will consistently meet production standards and quality requirements. Electrical assembly includes the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and create solutions to problems that may arise. To assemble simple and/or complex units consisting of small to large numbers of component parts in a manner which will consistently meets customers’ requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
+ + Perform assembly, testing, wiring, installing and other assembly operations.
Lays out diagram for electrical installations according to wiring specifications.
Cuts, strips, bends, and forms wire cable.
Solders connections and crimps connectors to wire ends, Crimping ferrules and ring connectors
Fasten materials together with bolts, screws, clips, and other fastening devices
Perform hand soldering, wire cutting, and stripping of cables
Assembler will use visual aids, schematics, blueprints, wiring lists and other instructions to assemble and wire industrial control panels, wiring systems, electronic controllers, and custom assemblies
Perform standard product assemblies both electrical and mechanical Use power/pneumatic tools to install and assemble products
Laying out, mounting, and wiring components on electrical panels
Assist with control wiring/panel board wiring, and cabinet assembly
Splicing wires
Heat Shrink
Wire harnessing
Inspect and test your work to ensure customer’s specifications are achieved.
Uses a wide variety of mechanical/manual tools and operating procedures to finish parts.
Uses measuring instruments, i.e., hand micrometers, multi-meter to ensure correct tolerances are met.
Performs required assembly operations including adjusting, fitting, and aligning of components. Makes simple inspection of completed units.
Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.
Works safely and comply with all established safety rules and work practices.
Complies with Company, Department, and Section policies and procedures as applicable.
Anticipates and addresses causes of potential delays/defects and implements corrective actions.
Keeps Supervisor informed of job related problems and other information related to work activity.
Maintains a positive work attitude and promotes a “team” approach throughout the department.
Participates in and support continuous improvement events.
Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school diploma or equivalent
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Ability to read basic tolerances and simple dimensions on blueprints and use measuring instruments. Firm understanding of wiring diagrams, symbols and schematics.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: At least 1 to 2 years of Assembly Technician experience – one who can diagnose, troubleshoot and create solutions to problems that arise.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES: Good manual dexterity skills, hand-eye coordination, etc. Ability to maintain a high concentration level while doing repetitive work. Display a positive attitude.
