U.S. Water Services Manager, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement - Brooklyn Park, MN in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota

We are hiring for a Manager, Quality and Continuous Improvement position located in our Brooklyn Park, MN office. In this role, you are currently (could change in the future) responsible for managing a team of 3 direct reports working together to research, plan, test and implement process improvements, ISO, Quality Assurance, and Master Data across the Kurita America Organization. You will be leading the deployment strategy for Lean Six Sigma adoption by Kurita America organization across the United States.

Ideally, in this role you will coach, mentor and train not only your direct reports but all other functional leaders on six sigma, process improvement methodology. This is a hands on position that will be self-directed, actively seeking to understand issues, working with leaders to conduct Kaizen events and following through with action items and Key Performance Indicators/Metrics. To be successful in this role you will drive quality as culture across the entire organization.

You will report directly to COO and has a lot of freedom to exercise managerial / influencing skills in developing new Quality / Six Sigma work culture.

  • Lead, partner and coach a team of 3 direct report that are Subject Matter Experts in 1) ISO 2) Process Improvement (LSS) 3) Master Data

  • Collaborate with business leaders to develop and prioritize a project portfolio of processes to be improved to improve key performance indicators

  • Compose and maintain compelling project charters that identify objectives, scope and financial and other benefits

  • Accelerate improvement efforts with the use of proven tools and methods such as Kaizen Blitz

  • Through the Kaizen type of events, engage various levels and functions of the entire organization. Idea is to, (a) deliver quick results in short doses (b) create momentum across the entire organization bringing a cultural/behavioral change

  • Builds an effective relationship network of stakeholders and resources within the organization for project buy-in and sustainment

  • Develop the organization by training and coaching associates on the application of the Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools

  • All manufacturing processes/influences which can affect product quality

  • Improvement of the current suppliers and developing higher quality and/or lower cost alternatives

  • Standards of root cause analysis and methods for problem analysis, solution creation and customer communications

  • Develop a set of KPI to track the performance of quality organization and report the progress to the Executive Leadership Team periodically


  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related technical field required

  • Experience coaching, managing and delivering training to direct reports and others at all levels of an organization

  • 5-7 years of experience with proven track record in facilitating and leading improvement projects including change management.

  • Experience applying Lean and Six Sigma tools, applications, methodologies specifically: Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Blitz, Theory of Constraints, Quality Functional Deployment, Pugh Matrix and Kano Analysis.


  • MBA or equivalent business management experience

  • Relevant Professional certifications from recognized business associations (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, etc.)

Physical and Mental requirements:

  • Required to sit for extended periods of time.
