The Salvation Army - Metro Division Kettle Coordinator in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota
This position is responsible for working with all aspects of the day-to-day Christmas Kettle fund-raising campaign working with volunteers and staff to assure a safe, successful campaign. Typical schedule is 7:00 am.to 4:00 pm Monday - Friday, however some evening and Saturday hours may be required to meet the mission of this position. This is a temporary seasonal position starting approximately 4 days prior to the kettle start date and ending on December 24thwith no benefits. Work week expectation is 40 hours with no overtime without prior authorization.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Manage and maintain kettle related equipment including making minor repairs to bells as needed and reporting needed repairs to signs and stands to appropriate maintenance staff
Communicate daily bell-ringing schedules and needs to staff and volunteer drivers, money counters, and Officer of the Day utilizing email, phone, and fax as needed
Take out and pickup kettles as needed
Check kettle locations occasionally during the day to thank volunteers and assure equipment is working
Resolve scheduling conflicts and arrange for back-ups as needed
Print daily route list and distribute
Conduct bell-ringer orientations
Assist in preparing and printing other kettle reports as needed
Assist with scheduling bell-ringers, drivers, and money counters
Assist in data entry and tracking of statistics as needed

Other duties as directed
High School diploma or GED, have experience working with volunteers, recruiting and project management or other relevant experience. Must have excellent administrative and computer skills – proficient in Excel and database programs, able to effectively use email as well as create general correspondence and able to learn and adapt to other computer software programs easily. The qualified candidate must have excellent personal communication skills, able to work independently with minimal supervision, work some evenings and Saturdays. Must be willing to support the mission of The Salvation Army, possess a valid driver’s license, meet the MVR drivers’ qualifications and pass the background checks. It must be understood by the incumbent that the provisions of Safe From Harm will apply upon commencement of employment and also understood that the required Safe From Harm training be satisfactorily completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
