Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Direct, lead and coordinate the daily efforts of a diverse and focused work team of 20-30 employees, providing custom products, services to specific customer groups and distribution and warehouse activities such as cycle count, pick, pack and ship. This position supports a team on second shift, with the hours of 4:30pm to 1:00am, with occasional Saturday shifts as well.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, plan, and organize the department including responsibility for quality, turnaround time, efficiency, cost, and employee motivation.

  • Supervise and direct personnel to engineering processes on electrical and mechanical assemblies.

  • Hire, coach, counsel and terminate staff to build a high performing team.

  • Develop and mentor team leads by providing opportunities to participate in supervisor responsibilities.

  • Maintain quality standards and process conformance, direct quality improvements in the product & process, and monitor & coordinate turnaround time of their respective product or process.

  • Initiate and support continuous improvement efforts. Work within a team and with other teams to improve processes.

  • Assume responsibility for the proper application of established personnel policies, wage and salary policies, safety and health regulations, housekeeping, merit increases and other personnel actions within their group.

  • Maintain department within budget, maintain control on part usage and accurate scrap reporting, and maintain accurate labor reporting of all hours within their department.

  • Support International production efforts

  • May need to interact directly with customers

  • Off-Shift and Saturday coverage will be included

  • Prepare and participate in ISO, FDA, and Internal Audit.

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Technically competent team building skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience in a highly technical environment.

  • Minimum four year degree (BS), Engineering, Management, or equivalent area of study.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

ESSENTIAL:

Outstanding communication skills, proven leadership skills.

DESIRABLE:

GN ReSound Product knowledge: instruments, fitting systems, test systems. Process flow for custom product manufacturing: O/E, Assembly, Repair, Test & Insp., Invoicing, Shipping, International Experience, Information Systems (user competency),

Kronos Application, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

PREVIOUS RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL:

Minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisor role with a demonstrated history of increasing responsibility

Demonstrated ability to successfully accomplish goals or objectives through the efficient supervision of people; demonstrated problem solving, language & math, reasoning and training skills, demonstrated ability to handle many concurrent tasks on a daily basis, good written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to deal with occasional high stress situations in a calm and confident fashion.
