Position Purpose:

The Operational Excellence Supervisor works in collaboration with all departments to support the business to improve and simplify existing processes. This role delivers sustainable operational improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity by participating in or leading improvement projects. Additionally, the role ensures that new processes contain and use continuous improvement methodologies. The Operational Excellence Supervisor may engage exempt and non-exempt employees across all shifts and functional departments in the CI process and creates/ delivers appropriate LEAN/CI education to create and sustain a CI culture.

The Operational Excellence Supervisor support the site-based Commercialization teams during the development, trialing and execution phases to ensure RFT execution in the introduction of new/changed products and technologies. The Operational Excellence Supervisor also supports Value Realization and Optimization efforts through local participation in key corporate improvement initiatives.

Job Description:

25%- Utilizes PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) and DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) methodologies to actively participate in continuous improvement projects that impact safety, quality, efficiency, and/or productivity.

10%- Applies E3 concept (Engage, Enable, Empower) within project activities to ensure project sustainability with affected work force, supervisors, and leaders

20%- Provide support to distribution supervisors and managers that could include but is not limited to Distribution, Warehouse, Inventory, Transportation and others to deliver operational improvements using Lean and continuous improvement methodology and tools

15%- Support in developing SOP’s and training documents.

10%- Assist in identifying LEAN/CI needs and help develop implementation plans with Distribution team.

10%- Participate in preparing LEAN/CI trainings to hourly and exempt employees as required.

10%- Participate in monthly reporting regarding metrics, performance, and progress under the directions of Distribution Manager and Executive Director. Collect and conduct preliminary analysis in preparation for meeting with appropriate Management. Represent division/department as needed at LEAN/CI events.

Qualifications

Education: University Degree or Equivalent experience

Experience: 1 year in Operations

Certificates or Licenses: Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)

Others: LEAN certification/Six Sigma training or comparable preferred, or must be able to complete within first year. Professional communication skills and proven leadership capabilities, Project management experience or certification preferred
