R&D Batching/Mixing Technician

Description
Position Summary: Execution of small-scale personal care product manufacturing in a pilot environment. Perform equipment set-up, process execution, cleaning, and product testing as required. Follow SOPs and process instructions. Proficient with equipment operation. Perform experimental laboratory work.
This position will be primarily focused on execution of processing hair and skin care products in a small scale pilot lab environment. All work must be executed according to GMP/GLP and in an accurate, safe, and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation, cleaning and sanitizing equipment
Perform tank and pump inspections
Verify weighing and documentation accuracy
Safe addition of raw materials to kettles
Use steam and cooling water systems to heat and cool batches
Proper use of complex processing equipment (homogenizers, shear blenders…, etc.)
Understand, follow, and provide feedback to engineers on processing procedures.
Prepare blends and premixes
Produce and transfer batches of product in a safe manner
Maintain accurate process records
Sampling
Analytical testing
Performs own work & executes with excellence
Pro-actively updates supervisor on status & flags issues / help required
Generates & records data accurately
Proficient in utilizing systems to deliver work
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Education Level: High School Diploma
Minimum Years of Experience: 1
Addition Job Specifications:
Detail oriented, good verbal and written communication skills, effective time management skills, basic math skills, and mechanical aptitude.
Must have ability to up to 50 pounds, ability to stand for up to 8 hours daily.
Must be able to use all protective and safety equipment.
Knowledge of cGMP, cGLP, cGDP preferred.
Basic computer ability with MS Outlook, Word, Access, and Excel.
